During this period (1936-1969), the Commission has issued 63 Commission orders with the timetables for the abatement of water pollution. The Commission has gone to Court 12 times. All decisions were favorable to the Commission.
There are seven Interstate Water Pollution Control Agencies in the United States. The Interstate Sanitation Commission is the only one having a plant sampling program to ensure that the plants are being operated to meet requirements of treatment.
